Manuscript Type

Jurnal Sistem Informasi dan Teknik Informatika (JAFOTIK) welcomes original scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in information systems, informatics engineering, computer science, and related fields. Submitted manuscripts must be original, scientifically sound, relevant to the journal's scope, and prepared in accordance with the journal's author guidelines.

JAFOTIK considers the following types of manuscripts:

1. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles report the results of original scientific investigations, experiments, system development, empirical studies, or applied research. These manuscripts should present a clear research problem, relevant theoretical foundations, appropriate research methods, verifiable results, and a discussion of the findings and their implications.

Topics may include information systems development, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, computer networks, cybersecurity, database systems, and other areas within the journal's scope.

2. System Development and Implementation Articles

System Development and Implementation Articles present the design, development, implementation, testing, and evaluation of information systems, software applications, or computing solutions. Manuscripts should describe the development methodology, system architecture, implementation process, testing procedures, and evaluation results.

Submissions must demonstrate a clear technical or practical contribution beyond a basic description of an application or system.

3. Applied and Experimental Research Articles

Applied and Experimental Research Articles focus on applying, testing, or evaluating computational methods, algorithms, technologies, or information systems to address specific problems. These manuscripts may include comparative algorithm evaluations, performance testing, prototype experiments, case studies, and technology assessments.

Authors should provide sufficient methodological detail, appropriate evaluation metrics, and a clear interpretation of the results to support the validity and reproducibility of the findings.

4. Review Articles

Review Articles provide a structured and critical synthesis of existing literature on a relevant topic in information systems, informatics engineering, or computer science. These manuscripts should identify important research developments, compare existing approaches, discuss research gaps, and propose directions for future research.

Authors must clearly explain their literature search strategy, selection criteria, and synthesis methods. Systematic reviews should follow an appropriate systematic review methodology and reporting guidelines where applicable.

5. Case Study Articles

Case Study Articles examine the application, implementation, evaluation, or impact of information technology in a specific organizational, industrial, educational, governmental, or community context.

These manuscripts should describe the case context, research or evaluation methods, findings, and practical implications. The discussion should provide meaningful insights that may be useful beyond the specific case being examined.

General Requirements

All manuscript types must meet the following requirements:

  1. Relevance: The manuscript must fall within the scope of JAFOTIK.

  2. Originality: The manuscript must represent original work and must not be under consideration for publication in another journal.

  3. Scientific Quality: The manuscript must demonstrate methodological rigor, appropriate analysis, and conclusions supported by the results.

  4. Ethical Compliance: Research must comply with applicable ethical standards, including privacy, data protection, and research ethics requirements where relevant.

  5. Reporting Transparency: Authors must provide sufficient information about research methods, data sources, software, experiments, and evaluation procedures to enable appropriate assessment and, where possible, reproducibility.

  6. Formatting: Manuscripts must follow the journal's official template and submission requirements.

The editorial team will assess each submission for scope, originality, quality, and compliance with the journal's policies. Manuscript acceptance is subject to editorial screening and peer review, where applicable.

JAFOTIK reserves the right to decline manuscripts that do not meet the journal's scope, scientific standards, ethical requirements, or submission guidelines.
